Our restorative dentistry options are second to none in the Woodstock area, and crowns are no exception. Crowns are full-coverage restorations that help protect your tooth on every side. They are typically used on teeth that have:
The treatment process for traditional crowns involves two separate visits. At the first appointment, the tooth is prepped, and any damaged surfaces are removed. An impression is taken of the tooth, which is sent to our state-of-the-art laboratory, where a custom restoration is made. Then, a temporary crown is placed over the tooth to prevent sensitivity and maintain function.
About two weeks later, your permanent crown is ready for placement. This appointment is relatively simple. After removing the temporary crown, the tooth is cleaned, and the permanent crown is cemented in place. Your bite is then assessed for a proper fit, and minor adjustments may be made.
Your porcelain crown can last for several years when cared for properly. Cosmetic dental crowns can enhance your smile while also strengthening the health of your teeth.
Every crown completed is custom designed so that it flows perfectly with the appearance of your other teeth. This allows you to improve the beauty of your teeth without other people even realizing that you’ve had dental work completed.
For the most beautiful porcelain crowns, we use customized shades of porcelain that looks and feels like natural enamel. Each one is shaped, textured and shaded so that it resembles the appearance of a real tooth.
